Theme of the XVI Edition: “HOMO FABER: FREEDOM AND DESTINY”
The International Poetry and Theatre Competition “Castello di Duino” and the World Youth Forum “Right to Dialogue” are organized as part of the more comprehensive project “Poetry and Solidarity, Language of Peoples”. The project, born out of the enthusiasm and the ideals of Gabriella Valera and Ottavio Gruber, was launched in 2000 and then supported by the Association “Poetry and Solidarity” www.poesiaesolidariets.org and all its Members.
Man and Creation: since mankind has assumed the characteristics indicated by the classification of “homo faber”, women and men with their creativity, capacity and intelligence have shaped a world in which they express their freedom, which however sometimes made them slaves of an unwanted destiny. And poetry with its song of grace or despair is part of this extraordinary story and reflects it. Beyond these suggestions, the subject can be treated absolutely free according to personal inspiration.
