‘creativity empowers cities, technology creates the future’

You are cordially invited to follow online the 2020 edition of the UNESCO Creative Cities Beijing Summit, organized in the framework of the activities undertaken by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
This edition of the Summit will explore new dimensions and ways in which culture and creativity, alongside technological approaches, can help in devising improved urban management methods, models and ideas that are resilient and futureproof, and that are aimed at making urban living better. The meeting will include a main forum entitled ‘Creativity and Innovation: A path to the cities of tomorrow,’ and three panel discussions structured around interconnected themes that focus on creativity and technology, namely:
i) Creative Cities: Shaping a multi-dimensional, local approach for sustainable development;
ii) Science, Technology and Creativity: Enabling urban management to address global challenges; and
iii) Inter-city Collaboration: Nurturing open and inclusive co-development through creativity.
The opening ceremony of the Summit will also feature the launch of UNESCO’s latest e-publication ‘UNESCO Creative Cities’ Response to COVID-19.’
